Was looking around for a Vietnamese restaurant near the area and found this one. There’s so many Chinese restaurants in NYC alone, it’s hard to find a good Vietnamese place. It’s not like the Bay Area. Anyway, I tried the tofu and vegetables over vermicelli and it was tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was hot when it arrived. The veggies weren’t overcooked. I was happy they considered my diet. Normally, the vermicelli dishes come with meat. I was able to add tofu to it. I will come back to the and try other dishes.
I came to this location with a friend who frequently comes here. I was excited for the first time to try Vietnamese food unfortunately I had an experience that REALLY HURT ME. We received the food and ate where everything was going well. However when we received our check.. TIP WAS INCLUDED. It wouldn’t be a problem if everyone of EVERY RACE RECEIVED THE TIP INCLUDED IN THE RECEIPT. However come to find out because my friend (who is of Asian descent) and I (who is of African American descent) were together.. they decided to put tip included. My friend was very irate and asked to speak to a manager. She spoke to a manager and the tip was taken off with LOTS of apologies. My friend had told me they NEVER included tip and other African American patrons have also experienced this. When we left they were saying come back next time while laughing. I will NEVER COME BACK TO SUCH A DISGUSTING ENVIRONMENT. This is VERY UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM UTTERLY DISGUSTED. I will make a complaint to BBB about this. I don’t want them to EVER get away with this!!
