Fast, good and cheap. Dumplings are great. Food is not bad. Service is fast for the dumplings. Food takes longer. Beer is cold. Is not fancy.
Overall, the dumplings were definitely excellent. For the price, the food met my expectations and the service was prompt and attentive. However, the shrimp was not cleaned which made it a little unappetizing in my eyes. All in all, good restaurant for a quick bite and some fabulous dumplings.
Just like the name- Excellent. Recommend the excellent dumplings. Duh. This place is one of the very best places to have Chinese food anywhere in New York for normal people. It is on the edge of Chinatown and you have to wade through the throngs of watch and purse-selling street vendors to get there, but when you walk in you’ll know this place is the real deal. It’s nearly always full- especially at the obvious lunch and dinner rush. You’ll stand in a line and it will be worth it. If you’re searching for a non-assuming place that is busy, the food is excellent, and you’re not pretentious, this is the destination.

Ate here with some friends while shopping in China Town. Crowded but very good food, all the dumplings were indeed excellent.
No Longer Excellent. This place has gone seriously downhill, and it’s the saddest thing. Their one good (namesake) dish was a plate of killer fried dumplings with a savory pork and cabbage filling. They were so, well, excellent that it didn’t matter that everything else on the menu was filler at best. Then, new management rolled in and decided to save money by replacing half the pork with glass noodles, carrots, and ground mystery seafood. They apparently figure that nobody would notice the difference… the only problem with this gambit is that the dumplings taste like sea dung now. Don’t reward these cheapskates. Go to Vanessa’s or Prosperity.
Fast, Tasty, Inexpensive and Good. I’ll tell you what I like about this place. The food is served fast soon after ordering, the food is tasty and the food is inexpensive. I decided to come here because I was feeling a bit of a chill due to walking several blocks in fall weather under a crummy drizzle. The dumplings and the hot tea took care of that for me. It filled the stomach and was just the right thing. Wonderful. I will be back.
