First meal in NY on my most recent trip and damn, did it impress. I’ve been wanting to try this vegan hotspot since it opened. Got a baked ziti burger (disappointed that they ran out of seitan sausage and had to sub a lentil burger, which was good but probably a very different experience). Also tried the deliciously saucy Cajun tofu baguette and, of course, a cinnamon scroll. Saved that for later so it was a bit stale, but I’m sure freshly served would be great. I’ll have to visit again to try another. That being said, I’m convinced this spot may be even better as a savoury destination than as a sweet one considering how great my sandwiches were. (I’ll ignore the fact that my total for the lot ended up costing $60AUD). When in NY, I guess..
Vegan Beastmode Burger Deluxe here is other worldly. Ancho chilli seitan burger grilled in maple hickory bbq sauce with jalapeo mac n cheese, arugula, smoked chilli coconut bacon & chipotle mayo on a grilled pretzel bun. Just like the description, it is humongous, messy and indulgent – exactly what burgers should be! Highly recommended
