Good Cuban/Brazilian food in GV. We’ve gone a couple of times and we’ll be regulars. First time was for lunch and their lunch specials are a good deal. I had their delicious burger with avocado and swiss cheese. Amber went for the half Cuban sandwich & soup-Sopa de Platano. It also comes with mixed green salad. She loved it all.Even though we’re not big drinkers we came the next time for happy hour, mainly for the appetizers. We both love the Brazilian cheese bread especially. The location is great too because we’re able to walk around after in Greenwich Village.Overall Favela Cubana is a great addition to the New York restaurant scene,
Brunch for the win!. I come here almost every weekend (during the part of the year I’m living in New York) for the brunch. For one, you get free drink specials which cannot be beat. But aside from that, the food is just amazing. The Cuban french toast, which is like a stuffed french toast with cream cheese and fruit, is to die for. As for drinks, I go for the peach bellini every time. I highly recommend this place!
Incredible!. I personally like going for the weekend brunch special – free drinks! The food is really incredible too. It’s a great Cuban restaurant with a delicious array of foods that keep you coming back again and again… really, I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been drawn back here, even if I was just there the day before. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out, honestly. It’s my favorite New York restaurant!
Amazing Cuban Restaurant in NY. The food at the new Brazilian Cuban restaurant is amazing. I love their Cuban sandwiches and the risotto is the best I’ve ever tasted. The flavors are bold, the service is quick and friendly, and the prices are very, very reasonable. I’ve come here 2-3 times now, the braised pork empanadas are fantastic, and the creamy coconut flan is to die for! LOVE Favela Cubana …. ..truly one of the BEST places in town.. LOVE the food, waitstaff and the prices. I always leave with a smile on my face, and so do my guests. Its one of the very few places I feel sure of going and taking others and know right off the bat that a positive time will be had.
Love Their Weekend $10 Brunch. Love Saturday Brunch at Favela Cubana. Nice choice of food entrees plus your choice of bellini or a mimosa also includes cafe con leche. Had a good time, enjoyed the brunch.
Outstanding!. You must order the Sopa De Feijo!!! I have tried this at other venues, and they just don’t compare. It is clear that whoever is making the Sopa De Feijo knows a thing or two about this type of food. You have to get the spices right or it will not be good. I’ve started becoming a regular for this soup alone, but have tried several other dishes that were just as outstanding.
