Came here for dinner, on the late side, one night. It was very quiet, which can always affect the experience, service, etc… The ambiance is great, of course. I had the Steak Frites and it was good. My friend got the chicken and loved it. The wine list was underwhelming. I am a big fan of Keith McNally restaurants but this one was just, eh for me. Also, found it to be strange that on a Saturday night it was dead. I remember when we used to go to Schiller’s and Pastis late at night. Couldn’t figure out why this place was so quiet.

We visited on a packed Saturday afternoon. Apparently we weren’t the only ones interested in trying their brunch menu. Reservations are highly recommended, however, their rounded bar counter is a cool place to wait for a table.Overall, the food is decent, but generally overpriced for what you get. They use quality ingredients and know how to properly rely on them. For example, the ham on the eggs benedict was outstanding. As was the English muffin. It was lightly toasted, crispy, and had the proper softness. The perfect compliment to that fantastic ham. The dish could have used more hollandaise sauce and the accompanying salad needed additional dressing.Their Vermont bacon was quite smoky and thoroughly enjoyed by my companions. I wasn’t a fan. The lobster scrambled eggs was a surprise. It had a creamy texture yet wasn’t slimy whatsoever. The eggs were fluffy and light. The lobster was butter poached and quite tender. We ended with a below average carrot cake. The service is slow, but very professional when you do have their attention. They had good wine options by the glass and the bar made some very satisfying mixed drinks.

1.0 star rating 7/29/2015A cool word of warning about this place. Do not dare make an order and allow the server to screw up that order without making a gigantic fuss, apparently. Myself and two other dining companions decided to give this establishment a try on Saturday, (July 25th) We all ordered meals in the same price range, along with a bottle of wine. However, the meal I ordered has a similarly-named course elsewhere on the menu at a higher price point. Our food was brought out & we began to consume it. Busboys occasionally returned to the table to refill our water and take away plates, and when we were two-thirds completed with the meal, the server returned to refill our wine glasses. The trouble began at the conclusion of the meal when the check was presented. My portion of the check reflected the higher priced menu item. I quickly brought this to the night manager’s attention, whereupon I was informed that because I had consumed the item, I was therefore compelled to purchase said item in full. I quickly explained that I had never been to this establishment before and assumed what was brought out was what I ordered. She chose not to see it that way and insisted that I pay for the meal and then take it up with the general manager during the week (which I did). On first discussion with the GM, he was understanding and somewhat generous in his willingness to restore the difference in prices of the two differing menu items. However, before a final decision was to be made, he said he wanted to recheck with various personnel and look up the receipt. One day later he called and totally reversed himself. He informed me that because the meal was consumed, and regardless of the server’s negligence, that the restaurant’s position was that the check would remain the same. He claims the safeguards against such things occurring are that the servers return to your table asking if the meal is ok. More likely than not, this is a case of saving face and protecting incompetent servers who made the mistake in the first place. This restaurant may have extorted money for three meals last Saturday, but if this review gives any future diner of that establishment pause to choose more wisely, then it hopefully will cost them in the end. It is a truly disgraceful, avaricious manner in which to run a business. To those who would give this place a good review due to the food and ignore the customer service portion of the business: Think twice!!
