The restaurant itself is nice and has great outdoor seating. Only one flavor hookah, though – mint. Whatever flavor you order – grape, watermelon, apple, anything – it all tastes like mint. I heard the people at the table behind us complaining of the same thing.
Worst service ever! If you are enjoying a hookah, they will kick you out if they think you are taking too long! AND the food is mediocre at best. Do not give these people your money!
Couscous. Although I can and have made couscous at home – theirs was SO GOOD and I ate most of the dish that was supposed to serve 3 people. The apple mojito was delicious too! At some point, the restaurant switched over to an Arabic dance club. We stayed out until 2:30am and there were people still coming in.
Beware of Hidden Charges!. Be careful of undisclosed charges!! We had a voucher for a prix-fixe meal for 2, and the only thing we ordered extra were 2 glasses of wine ($8 x 2 = $16). When the final bill came, they charged us almost $60!!!!!! When I asked why they said something about voucher terms and conditions, which was actually false – I came home and checked the fine print of my voucher, no such terms were listed! The food was good but very overpriced – I ended up spending close to $100 total. Not worth it.
Good food, decent hookah. If you’re looking for a pretty good meal and some hookah, this is a good place– try the chicken bastilla (this was amazing- highly recommend) as well as the ribs. The hookah is just decent and they allow the heads to burn too often without restocking coals or packing new heads. Anyone who loves sheesha can be really turned off by something like this which is why I go elsewhere when I’m going for hookah primarily.. but the food definitely recommend.
Impressive. I really loved it here. When I visited the city, I was recommended to eat here and I was very happy I did. Incredibly chic, even intimate atmosphere and beyond authentic dishes. Very fun too! The featured belly dancer really added to everyones experience, and the hookahs were cool too if you’re into those.
Intimate Lounging. Here is where we go for ambiance and nice music. DJ is quite ok, drinks are ok but nothing spectacular. Generally people at the door and all throughout the establishment are very very polite to you, IF you are polite as well. Do not be afraid to come here because you feel you might misunderstand the cultural specifics of the le souk crowd, which varies from night to night. You never feel left out here no matter what your nationality. Very nice place for nargilah/hookah. They prepare the pipe professionally. Perks: hookah is VERY good. not generic anywhere=in=nyc hookah, but the real stuff. Music. Good Looking people. Politeness. Downside; price – not too cheap. [but one gets what one pays for]. Service not as efficient as most Greenwhich Vill. establishments would like to boast about. But just call them numerous times and you will get what you want served to you eventually.
