After being so excited to visit cafe Henrie with it being number one on my New York to do list, I was incredibly disappointed. The dcor was amazing with millennial pink menus and tints. However, the service was terrible, the food was limited and boring and it was overall disappointing.
Caf Henrie is a wonderful small bistro in the Lower East Side perfect for breakfast or lunch, with focus towards more fresh food. We had a quick brunch on a sunny Saturday and sat by the open large veranda. Try any of delicious coffee by Counter Culture and teas. We ordered the dragon bowl, with the carrot-harrissa yogurt dressing and the turmeric poached egg. It is a delicious and hearty meal that hits the spot without the icky fullness and puffed belly that follows a typical Sunday bruch. You can taste the freshness literally in every bite. If ordered without the egg, and the sauce, the dragon bowl is vegan. The dcor at Henrie is wonderfully creative, with beautiful pastel colors, art and graffiti. It is the perfect creative hangout to meet people, to sketch, or read a book.
