A meal at Le Relais de Venise LEntrecte consists of a formula of salad, steak with a secret sauce and French fries. This is offered for both lunch and dinner. Wine, cocktails, dessert and coffee is extra. The Soho location is the second one with the first on Lexington Avenue in the East 50s. There are also branches in Paris. I had eaten a few meals at the Lexington Avenue location and didnt have too many good memories of it but at that time it was reasonably priced so when Jennifers birthday came up and she said that she wanted to eat steak….this place seemed the most reasonable price-wise.The setting in Soho is pretty with open French windows. The two waitresses were dressed in the French style. The food? Quite awful. The salad with walnuts was fine but much smaller portion-wise than in years gone by. The steak was a poor cut of meat and quite tasteless that had been sliced and served with a sauce that didnt do anything to enhance it. The fries were quite good. Jennifer had a beer and I drank a wine. As the birthday girl likes cheesecake that is what she had and it was delicious. I had the vacherin which was delish.
