It all depends. Some rolls here are pretty boring when it comes to flavor, like the Salt Lake Special. That pretty much just tastes like tempura. But once you find the right rolls, Sakura is great. Rolls like the Tropicana, Yellowstone, TSC and Crystal are some of my favorites. Especially the Yellowstone. The only problem is that the restaurant is small, so the wait can be a while and service can be slow.

Great sushi–great value. This little spot is tucked away in Foothill Mall and is a gem that I hope survives! I don’t think locals are finding the place yet and so there are some great specials to be had. I came home last night with 4 rolls, enough for my wife and I for dinner, for $25. And this is great sushi! The people at Sakura are super nice as well and we’ve eaten in and taken out, always with excellent results. Don’t let this place disappear for lack of trying it out! There are precious few sushi spots in this part of town!

Great food. My wife and I went here with our two year old son after buying a deal on living social and we were pleasantly surprised. The rolls were great, the soup was good and the service was really good. My son loved the chicken teriyaki and the staff was very accommodating to two year old who was hungry. Overall a great experience and we will return.

Not fresh!!. Chewy, fishy, smelly, sushi. I will not return.

Sushi rolls are a let down. Their fish is too soggy and chewy, rolls aren’t rolled tight enough and fall apart too easily, and the flavors leave a lot to be desired. I’ve tried a good many rolls here now and not one has impressed me. Plus, I’m not sure what brand of soy sauce they use but it is much too pungent. Also, no happy hour so the costs add up fast. Drinks also tend to run empty. The owner’s family is a kind bunch and the place is a fun hole in the wall, but I expect more from the food.

Tempura was really good. Overall, dinner was good. There are other better restaurants around for sushi.

Getting better and better. I’ve eaten here for a number of years. The sushi is getting better. It’s a notch below the best in town, but its a lot cheaper and its very good. Great rolls include catepiller and variations on spicy tuna rolls.
