Always fresh and delicious cupcakes. I work down the street and stop here to get sweets for my wife almost every week. We shop at this location as opposed to the one across the street from us in Midvale because their cupcakes are much better and more fresh. The service here is also excellent every time I walk out with a smile on my face!
Day old and stale. We came in near closing on a Saturday for our first trip to Sweet Tooth Fairy and ordered three kinds of treats to take home to the kids. After we got home we found every item to be at least a day old, not moist, and unpleasant. Perhaps they put out old stock at the end of the day if they are running short. It is too bad since they looked delicious. We won’t return.
Tricky Sweets. The difficult things with bakeries is that they often make a large amount of cupcakes, cookies, etc. and don’t always sell all of them. While it is somewhat disturbing to thing of, a lot of bakeries just stick what’s left in the fridge and bring it back out the next day. While I do not know if that is that case at Sweet Tooth Fairy, I have had a couple of off experiences. Even with those I absolutely ADORE their cupcakes. When fresh, these cupcakes are light and oftentimes fall apart as you are eating them. The frosting is my favorite type – light and smooth and dreamy. One of their seasonal cupcakes at the moment is the Nutella Crepe cupcake. A vanilla cupcake with cream in the middle (the only cupcake they have that has cream) topped with a sweet nutella frosting and strawberries. I don’t even like cream and yet the minute I finished this cupcake I wanted another. Apparently they are known for their cake bites, frosting and cake mixed together and then dipped in chocolate, but I definitely preferred the cupcakes.
Stale, day or two old bakery items. I have been several times thinking each time it will get better. Cupcakes purchased on one visit were not cooked fully and were inedible. Next visit to purchase cookies they were so old, hard and dry we could not bite into them. Again inedible. Pure disappointment. Save your money and buy at Dans or make your own.
