Shady Things Here.. I was rufeed. Harassed by the door guy who is prone to violence & has hurt people for no good reason before. Walking home. Got bashed in the back of the head. Once unconscious, stomped to death & left for dead. Came to with broken bones & footprints all over my body several hours later. And of course the Video cameras on both the front & back of the building had their footage of the incident mysteriously disappear. The owner acknowledged knowing of the incident & said "he wanted to put it behind him". And of course has done nothing but hide evidence to cover his own ass since. I also met a 65 year old man that got beat inside the establishment. It's not just one occurrence of this type of thing, I am finding as I look into it more. The drinks are super expensive. Thousands of dollars. Especially when they come with an emergency room hospital bill. The workers are all known to lie for the door guy & the owner. I wonder if they would tell the truth if they were named as an accessory to an attempted murder case..

Owners!!!. I like this pub. The people that work behind the bar are wonderful. My main complaint is with the loud music. I have been sitting at the bar and could barely hear the person next to me. I asked the girl behind the bar (very sweet by the way) to turn it down a bit. She obliged, but when the owner came in he immediately turned it back up. I should add that my friend and I were the only ones there. The girl behind the bar just shrugged. Also the bartenders are only allowed to play certain types of music. Picked by the owners of course. I can understand the logic behind loud music later in the evening but not at four in the afternoon. It has been a month since I was there so hopefully this has changed. I.

Great location, poor service. The location is perfect, we've needed a good bar to go to in this area for a while now. But every time I've been I've left disappointed in the employees. After one particularly bad experience with the door guy (who is a complete jerk) taking out his personal issues on my brother (and I know this because he apologized to him later about how he was having issues with his gf) I'll never return. After talking to one of the girl bartenders about his attitude problem I was asked to leave. I was the sober one in the group! I was not stirring up trouble, only trying to say something about how unprofessionally their employees were acting, but they preferred to defend their own at the expense of their patrons. I'll never return after being treated like that, and will never recommend anyone else go there..

Owner is a damper to bar. I have been to this bar a few times. 1st experience was okay. Bartender was nice. 2nd time there a patron's barstool broke and the owner kept badgering the patron asking him if he was going to sue. The paton kept saying no. We have no idea why or how the barstool broke. Maybe the barstool were cheaply made. 3rd and last time there I was talking to the gentleman next to me and the owner kept telling my friend that I needed to only talk to the people I cam with. Very strange. I think the owner should not be so controling and stay out of the bar. It would help business. Oh and the bathroom has a horrible smell omitting from it..

Quaint Personality. This little gem is perfectly suited to Sugarhouse. Its size serves the neighborhood well. Like many of Sugarhouse's unique spots, you might not notice the Sugarhouse Pub if you were looking for it (and you still might on an initial search). The service is friendly, though not the fastest, and the clientele is a nice mix. While the bar feels lively, it is never too rambunctious. For a small space, the owners have done quite well with it, and haven't let the size affect the offerings - expect to be able to order just about anything here that you would at a bar twice its size. It will be interesting to see how the expansion of the bar affects its current state. I would recommend this place to stop in for one beer or a few..
